RISING TIDE PRESS was created in 2004 with the aim of introducing new Nova Scotia writers to the reading public. After sponsoring a successful poetry competition, the editors, impressed by the quality of most entries, decided to publish a chapbook of poems by the contestants. The only stipulations for entry were that the writers be Nova Scotian, and that they had not yet published a full volume of poetry. The result was Rising Tide One.
